iPod Touch 1G dock connector audio in

Audio input has been enabled for both iPod Touch 1G and 2G through the dock connector starting with firmware 2.2. I am successfully recording using a MacAlly iVoice III on my iPod Touch 1G.

Are there any plans to support the 1st generation iPod Touch through dock connector microphones ?
