Calibration settings mics

edited December 1969 in Electroacoustics Toolbox
How do I used calibration settings I received from my Mic's manufacturer?

I have a Rational Acoustics RTA-420 with the following calibration file and i do not see where I can use this information.  Hoping I didn't waste money on it and should have actually bought a calibrator.....

  • Electroacoustics Toolbox does not support external microphone frequency response correction curves. However, since you have this data, you could use it to correct 1/3-octave measurements manually or export measurement data and correct it within a spreadsheet.

Sensitivity calibration will still require that you use a calibrator or another calibrated instrument.

  • It been a while since I posted but didn't want to start a new topic.  Is there a possibility to have this added in at a later date.  I did not realize Faber Acoustics didn't have this option and it is a feature I would really like to have added.  Especially for those of us that are perfectionists :)
  • Calibration correction and smoothing (1/24 octave - 1/3 octave, see Fuzzmeasure) would make FEAT useful for published microphone and speaker measurements, the primary reason I bought the software.

For design work, FEAT is fine. The data is accurate and useable. It just isn't what people outside the laboratory are used to seeing. For publication, I have to correct for my calibrated mic's response and perhaps other anomalies in a given test setup, and the "noise" at high frequencies needs smoothing since it is an artifact of the test chamber and differences in polar pattern between DUT and calibrated mic.

Another vote for this feature request.  :-)
