Please don't flame me, I am a metallurgist, not an EE.

I have just started playing around with trying to use the Signalscope
as a real scope around our lab.  Any help with the right
circuit to be able to input DC and AV voltages would be appreciated.

Getting some initial data I hacked a mic cable and I am getting 2.7V DC output to the mic.
At 4M ohms it seems to trigger the play/pause function of iTunes.  I have not gone above
that yet to see what impedance triggers that function.

Any suggestion on the circuit, without blowing up any chips in my phone.

I can spin a circuit board once I know what to build.

I wish I could help, but I wanted to show a bit of respect for what you're doing.  I wish I had the skills to start playing around and experimenting like that.  So, I'm far from flaming, but instead respecting.

I'd like to be able to switch to a window length around 0.005 seconds to get a good broadband spectrogram :)

Exactly.  :)

Really, the ability to get a real-time broadband spectrogram would supplant the need for this, but whichever's easier :)

Any updates on this?  I'm very eagerly anticipating a spectrogram option, even more if I could set the window length on the spectrogram (to reveal formants in speech, for instance).

SignalScope / Real Time LPC?

I'm wondering, as a speech geek, whether it would be remotely possible to have realtime LPC analysis shown alongside (or in addition to) the spectrum view on SignalScope?

I know LPC is a much different beast, but it'd be great if I could get such a thing.

SignalScope / Re: Problems downloading SignalScope from the App Store

Interestingly, iTunes just refunded my money for SignalScope, and told me to talk to the developer to figure out what the issue is, and to wait "up to two weeks" before repurchasing.  Any ideas here?  I'd love to get my hands on this software ASAP, and am willing to give it another try if you all think it's worth doing.

Any chance that SignalScope for the iPhone will be getting a spectrogram display in addition to the FFT analyzer that seems to be on there?  Real-time would be nice, but more useful (to me) would be the ability to record a short segment and then draw a zoomable spectrogram?

This would be very useful for me, as it provides a somewhat more conventional way of looking at speech acoustics.

I literally did a dance this morning when I found out that I would be able to view spectrograms on my phone.

I cannot tell you how many times I've wished that I could get a quick spectrogram of an unusual vowel, but have been without a laptop or tape recorder.  Now, I'll be able to get all sorts of acoustic data, and that makes me an incredibly happy little phonetician.

You all have made a very nerdy dream come true.  Thank you!

(PS: Still waiting to be able to download without the error message, support tickets with apple filed)
